Christmas has officially arrived in Colombia!

This week has been a bit of a mixed bag!

I heard from Spain, and the Gestor now assures me that all the paperwork is now complete, and in the hands of the Judge, I hope he is right or I will be stringing him up.

Sunday, Marcela, and her sister Sandra, braved the swimming pool with Sebastian, I stayed here, and Maria Elena stood and watched them, mad!! the sun may have been out, but the nights are cooler and hence the water does not heat up! As Always Sebastian was impervious to the cold, and had a great time.

I had a parcel arrive the other day, the plastic guide on my hair trimmer had broken, I contacted Remmington in the U.S.A. to see if they had a Service Agent over here where I could buy another, and because this model is now out of production, they  sent me a new one, the only downside is that it is a cable model and not a rechargeable, so I will have to be careful I don't slice through it, I was very impressed with the Service.

We had a trip into the City, Marcela had to call into the Office with some papers, and we went on to a Mall that is more or less totally filled with Computers and mobile phones, we had bought Marcela's laptop there earlier in the year. So we went to the same shop, and queried the price of a 7" Tablet, and ended up buying one, Titán, not a make I had heard of outside Colombia, but it is well put together with double camera and everything we need, and by European standards, dirt cheap, so whilst there I also bought a cheap Vivitar video camera, so we can film some of the Festive activities and put them on YouTube!.

Last night I was abandoned, Marcela went out for the works Christmas bun fight! but the time passed quickly, and she arrived back about 3am this morning, having used the Insurance Company Designated Driver system, so she was driven back, albeit she appeared fairly sober, at least I did not have to worry.
I spent the time, and finally hit the send button... I have been toying with the idea of taking a basic TEFL course  (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) so I can help out some of the locals, and at the same time, give me something else to do.

Anyway, like it or not, I now have the course, and I have to say, it is a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. I have submitted my first assignment today, and will be interested to see how it is marked, and have started on the second, but this one has me well and truly stumped, so it is anybodies guess as to whether I will pass, I can have three attempts at each assignment, and then I get bumped! If they get much harder than this, I will be glad when they bump me ha!ha!

You will be glad to know that Christmas officially starts at midnight tonight, Fireworks and Parties to welcome in December, and then most nights thereafter until January, I will be a total wreck! Marcela laughs when she talks about it, when I ask her why, she says because I have not experience this side of the culture yet.  During the week we bought a Bimbo 'Christmas Cake', described as being full of fruit. I decided to open it tonight, it is not a fruit cake as we think of it at all, it is a chocolate cake covered in glacé cherries, and a few bits of mixed fruit in the middle, very disappointing!
