Nice Day Out!

Late morning we set off for San Antonio de Pereira, a lovely village fast becoming a suburb of Rionegro about an hour and a quarter away. It wasn't very promising, with grey skies and a steady drizzle, we have to go via the Medellin to Bogota Autopista, and it was obvious that the weather is taking it's toll, there having been another landslide, shutting off one lane.

We arrived, it was surprisingly warm though grey skies and by this time just a few drops of rain. San Antonio is a favourite of ours for a reason, they have a couple of 'Dessert Outlets' and those of you who know me, know how much I love my 'Puds'.

However first we went into a Restaurant we had not visited before El Potrero, you can read about it on the Restaurant Reviews, likewise about the Puds!!!

We then had a walk around El Parque (the Square) where a number of Stalls were set up to catch the Visitors, and we were no exception, we made two purchases, the first was a black 'gorra' for Marcela, in effect a woolly hat!

Marcela & Gorra
However she manages to make everything look like a fashion statement, and this is no exception, she looks beautiful!

Then it was my turn, I have been looking for over a year for a man's Colombian Poncho, but not a thin touristy version, and the thicker ones are normally made within the family, so they are not often seen for sale, but I found one, and Marcela being the shrewd person she is bartered a discount! So I am a happy bunny now...sorry, no photo! (no really... I haven't worn it yet, except to try it on).

We then left San Antonio, and blow me down the sun came out to crack the flags, but the weather didn't spoil our outing, and P├ępe had been good whilst we were out.
