Yesterday, I decided that since we were getting somewhat straight again, I would install the TV support in our bedroom, I had always said a TV was for the lounge, and only the lounge, but age is catching up with me, and staring at a tablet whilst lying in bed was not doing me any good.
I was up the step ladder drilling one minute, the next I was flying through the air.
I still don't know what was the cause, whether I moved, and the shift in weight caused the leg to buckle, or whether the leg buckled as it fell over with me, and I will never know.
Fortunately I was able to put into practice a technique I was taught as a youngster jumping out of moving vehicles, and curled my body as I fell, which I think protected my neck, and head as I landed on the concrete tiled floor. I haven't escaped unscathed, but it could certainly have been a lot worse.
As for the stepladder, it will be cut up and sent for recycling!
As for today, I am just taking it easy, and despite it being a National Holiday, Jaime and his Crew are here working, whether it's all day, ore just until lunch, we have yet to ascertain.
The first three years of my Blog follow my journey settling in to life following my move to Colombia in 2012. After yet another a break from Blogging, I am back, but with a change of emphasis, due to health problems, I have been spending less and less time in the workshop, so decided I either had to close the Blog, or revert to it's original use...a diary! So thats what I am doing, it feels good to be back.
